There is a shortage of skilled supervisors in infrastructure firms. The aim of the development work was to improve cost-effectiveness in infrastructural contracting and to update the curriculum for management training. The development work is based on surveys and interviews, including infrastructure firms in Eastern Finland and those employed through previous infrastructure work supervisor training. A new curriculum for infrastructural management training was completed in the development work. The main themes for developing the expertise of an infrastructure foreman are improving the expertise of the infrastructure foreman in infrastructure contracting, as well as the management process and improving human management skills in site conditions. Companies also want to improve the cost-effectiveness of construction sites in the infrastructure sector and minimize waste in contracting. Companies emphasized proactive work planning in job management and good site organisation ability. Work skills in the infrastructure sector need to be constantly updated, as working methods in the infrastructure sector are changing....
